ANNAPURNA SANCTUARY TREKKING

Annapurna Sanctuary Trekking... For the 360° views of mountains...

The Sanctuary falls within the area managed by the Annapurna Conservation Area Project and is an exercise in environmental and cultural protection accommodating the needs of both the visitors and the local inhabitants.

There is a good mix of high mountains and Himalayan culture on this trek. The Annapurna Himal lies between the Kali Gandaki and Marsyangdi river valley, forming a solid, mountain bastion. Within its span of 40 miles, it encompasses some twelve peaks that are higher than 7000 m. and numerous others over 6000 m. As rhododendron forests give way to bamboo groves, which in turn vanish into the high, desert landscapes, people of Aryan stock give way to those of Mongoloid stock and the dominant religion changes from Hinduism in the lower reaches to Buddhism higher up.

Annapurna Region People / Tradition / Cultures and Festivals

When you trek in the Annapurna region you will see many fascinating ways of life and ancient cultural and religious sites and activities.
The culture of the Annapurna region stems from its peoples, their ancestral origin, and their religions. The people of this region migrated here from Tibet in times long ago. They arrived at different times from different regions, bring different religions. There are at least 3 main groups and 3 separate religions. These peoples and religions coexist for the most part happily.

AROUND ANNAPURNA TREKKING - If you have time and desire to experience a different world

The Last upward ramps seem as if they will never end. Stone after stone, snowfield after snowfield, its the climb up to Thorong La and trekking is Around Annapurna.

Among the many high passes of the mountains of Nepal, the Thorong La is the one that most strongly suggests a border crossing, a point of intersection between two worlds.
