HIUNCHULI PEAK CLIMBING

Hiunchuli Peak - General Information

In the most amazing mountainous amphitheaters of the world and near to the Annapurna South is this beautiful mountain, first discovered by Col. Jimmy Roberts, and later named by Roberts.

Expert climbers though consider this peak 'not difficult' to summit but rather than the success by easier attempts, the expedition route is the most complicated as its not well defined. The most possible risks involved are due to the rock fall & the huge avalanches very often compel the expedition teams to descent back immediately or change the route.

Mera Peak (6,654m / 21,830 ft) - The Highest Trekking Peak in Nepal

Mera Peak is located at the head of the quiet and remote Hinku valley, an area of the Mount Everest region rarely frequented by trekkers or visitors. There are many approaches to Mera; some are easy and some require the crossing of high and difficult passes.

South ridge is considered un-climbable, East and north faces almost so. Northeast ridge is a difficult mixed 1600 meters climb. West face is possible, so is north-west ridge, but access to Mera West glacier (Khare glacier) is difficult; either a 500 climb up an icefall or a 1,000 meter climb over west side ramparts to the glacial basin at 5,600 meters.

Chulu East (6,584m / 21,599 ft) could be next you want to see

If you are looking for a climb up to Chulu Peaks, the next to think could be Chulu East (6,584m / 21,599 ft).

Close up views of the Annapurna range (40 miles between the two river valleys contain at twelve 7,000 m peaks and many more above the 6,000m) and varied ecosystems, diverse cultures and an ever changing landscape - lush, green paddy fields and oak forests, arid deserts, the deepest gorge and some of the most fascinating mountains make this one of the most popular areas in the world for trekkers and mountaineers.
